This is a rough approximation of our route from Oost Cappel to Dunkerque via Bray Dunes. Unfortunately, Google Maps™ doesn't allow routes off mettled roads so there is a variation after Bray Dunes. At Bray Dunes we will be heading directly to the beach and dunes then following the beach and dunes all the way to the Eastern Mole at Dunkerque.
In reality, the fleeing troops would have kept to the dunes until they were able to join lines for the hundreds of boats and ships but to maximise our exposure for our cause (Help for Heroes) we will be sticking to the shoreline where hopefully many people will be enjoying all the events commemorating the 70th anniversary of the evacuation.
we will be carrying a "Help for Heroes" flag measuring 5ft x 3ft with the address of this website on it.

the red dotted line in the map above closely represents our route. The Google™ map below is interactive but can only display routes that follow roads, we will be joining the beach at Bray Dunes.
This is the view from France into Belgium on the edge of Oost Cappel and this is where we are starting our walk.

Below is a pretty obvious landmark that will show us we are approaching Hondschoot.
The map below shows our route according to Google Maps™. Unfortunately this system only conforms to routes that follow roads. At Bray Dunes (point C) we will be departing from the indicated route and continuing on to the beach then we will follow the beach all the way to Dunkerque' Eastern harbour 'mole'
This is the view from the Western side of the Eastern Mole where John Frizzell finally got on board a ship. D46 HMS Winchelsea and where our walk will end.
